How we choose tools
StackForIt exists to help you choose software quickly and confidently. Our recommendations are editorial first, affiliate second. Here is how we decide what makes the list.
1. Start with the goal, not the tool
Every guide begins with a clear outcome. We ask, “What are you trying to accomplish?” and then find the tools that genuinely fit that outcome — not the tools with the highest commissions.
2. Research, with a clear review status
These first guides are based on public product documentation and editorial assessment. We have not completed hands-on testing of these tools. When we do, we will describe the workflow, test date, and limitations.
3. Compare against real alternatives
A tool only earns a recommendation if it is meaningfully better than the alternatives for a specific type of user. We explain who each option is for and where it falls short.
4. Disclose weaknesses and pricing uncertainty
No tool is perfect. We list real cons and mark pricing or feature claims as placeholders when we cannot verify them. Trust matters more than a forced conversion.
5. Keep guides current
Software changes fast. We plan to revisit each guide regularly and note the last review date. Tool pages link to the official pricing source and show when it was consulted. That date refers to source research, not a completed hands-on test.
